When black works — and when to be careful
For a gala, a cocktail party, a corporate reception or a formal dinner, a long black dress is the safest choice there is.
All-black remains delicate, however, for a daytime religious ceremony, where it can read as too sombre. If you are a guest at a daytime wedding, our navy or burgundy collections offer the same restraint without that reservation.
Our long black dress cuts
All our dresses are floor-length. In satin, black catches the light and draws the line — it is the fabric of mermaid cuts and trained models. In matte crepe, it smooths the contours and suits figures that satin marks too sharply. In lace or embroidered tulle, it adds texture where a plain colour can look flat. Available in sizes 36 to 44, up to 48 on some styles.
An elegant black dress without looking too plain
A plain black dress with no detail can easily pass for workwear. Three ways to dress it up: a fabric that catches the light (satin, sequins, beading), visible construction (draping, laced back, train), or bold accessories. That is what separates an elegant black dress from a simple dark one.

What to pair it with
Gold jewellery to warm it up, silver for a more graphic result. Nude heels, which lengthen the leg where black ones cut the line. A coloured clutch — burgundy, gold or silver — is enough to lift the outfit out of the strict register.
