FAQ – Evening dresses | La Petite Robe
FAQ: everything to know before ordering your evening dress
Preparing for a wedding, a gala or a ceremony? Here are the answers to the questions our customers ask most often: sizing, delivery, returns, fittings and payment.
How do I choose the right size?
Every product page includes a size guide. Take your three measurements (bust, waist, hips) and compare them with the chart. Our dresses run small: go by your measurements rather than your usual size.
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: a slightly loose dress is easily taken in by a seamstress, while the opposite is not possible. Full details are in our size guide.
How long does delivery take?
Outside holiday and sale periods, your order is prepared within 24 working hours. Delivery then takes 4 to 7 working days to Europe and worldwide, and 2 to 5 working days within mainland France. For deliveries outside the European Union, any customs duties and local taxes are payable by the recipient. Rates by destination are listed in our shipping policy.
Can I return or exchange my dress?
Yes. You have 14 days from receipt to return an item, including sale dresses. You then choose between a refund, an exchange or a store credit. Return shipping costs are your responsibility. Full conditions are set out in our return policy.
Can I try on a dress before ordering?
Yes, by appointment, in Anse, near Villefranche-sur-Saône (69), in the Lyon area, France. You can compare several designs calmly and get advice for your figure and your event. Book a fitting.
How do I choose a dress for my body shape?
A wrap cut defines the waist, a flowing dress lightens the silhouette and an A-line cut balances the hips. For a gala, a fitted or mermaid cut in satin has the most presence; for a long day, chiffon or crepe stays more comfortable.
What should I wear as a wedding guest?
Avoid white, ivory and cream, which are reserved for the bride. Pastels, burgundy, sage green and navy remain safe choices: chiffon for a daytime ceremony, satin for an evening reception. See our wedding guest dresses.
Can I wear a black dress to a wedding?
Yes for an evening reception, with bright accessories: gold jewellery, a coloured clutch, nude heels. For a daytime religious ceremony, all-black can look too sombre; navy or burgundy are then a better fit. See our black evening dresses.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay and Klarna, which lets you pay in instalments if you are eligible. Depending on your country, other methods such as Bancontact or iDEAL are offered at checkout. All payments are secure.
