      Long red evening dress

      Red is the colour that gets noticed. That is both its strength and its limit: it turns an outfit into a statement. Save it for events where you want to be seen, and avoid it when discretion is called for.

      When to wear red — and when not to

      Red works for a gala, New Year's Eve, a birthday, a festive dinner or a dance. It is also the colour of the end-of-year season par excellence.

      As a wedding guest, however, it is better avoided: red draws the eye and can be read as a way of taking attention away from the bride. For a wedding, our burgundy or brown collections offer the same warmth without that risk.

      Which shade of red to choose

      A clear, vivid red is the boldest: it suits high-contrast complexions and evening events. A deep red, darker, sits closer to burgundy and works better in daylight. On fair skin tones, a red that leans too orange can harden the features — choose a cool-based red instead.

      What to wear it with

      Red stands on its own. Discreet gold jewellery, nude or black heels, a neutral clutch: everything else should step back. Avoid adding a second bright colour, and keep make-up understated if the dress is already strong — a matching red lipstick quickly becomes too much.

      Our cuts in red

      All our dresses are floor-length. In satin, red catches the light and becomes very present. In matt crepe, it reads more restrained and suits figures that shine emphasises too much. Available in sizes 36 to 44, up to 48 on some styles.

      Delivery in 4 to 7 working days. Fittings by appointment in Anse, near Villefranche-sur-Saône (69), France. Our dresses run small – go by your measurements rather than your usual size.
