Khaki evening dress
Khaki is what you choose to step outside the expected shades without taking a risk. Sitting between green and brown, it stays restrained while standing apart from the black, navy and burgundy you see everywhere.
Why khaki?
The muted tone brings out golden and darker complexions and softens fair skin without washing it out. For a wedding guest it is a safe choice: neutral enough never to upstage the bride, unusual enough not to disappear into the crowd of black dresses.
It works particularly well at countryside weddings and outdoor ceremonies, where it settles naturally into the surroundings in photographs.
Our khaki cuts
Flowing in chiffon for a daytime ceremony, or in satin for a more formal evening look. Khaki in satin picks up golden reflections under artificial light — matte chiffon does not. Available in sizes 36 to 44, up to 48 on some styles.
Wear it with
Gold or copper jewellery, which echoes the warm reflections of the shade. Nude or camel courts rather than black, which reads as too hard against this colour. A gold clutch works better than a silver one.
Khaki, green or taupe?
Khaki leans brown, green leans emerald or sage, taupe leans warm grey. If you are hesitating, a fitting by appointment lets you compare all three in daylight.
